For a blissful decade, young Mija has served as caretaker and constant companion to Okja, a colossal creature and her closest confidant, in the serene mountains of South Korea. However, their tranquil existence is shattered when the Mirando Corporation, a family-owned multinational conglomerate, claims Okja and whisks her away to New York. There, CEO Lucy Mirando, driven by a relentless pursuit of image and promotion, has grandiose plans for Mija's cherished companion. With determination as her only guide, Mija embarks on a daring rescue mission. Yet, her already formidable task grows exponentially complex as she encounters an array of competing forces: capitalists, demonstrators, and consumers, all vying for control over Okja's destiny.
