The film portrays the miserable and delightful fellowship between two companions: Jong Help, who was fed up with living in neediness during the Japanese occupation, and her pretty and brilliant companion, Youthful Ae from a similar town, whom Jong Aid reveres. They were carrying on with altogether different lives before yet one day Jong Help is grabbed by an outsider and her dad is taken to a police substation. Youthful Ae signs herself up as a functioning young lady and the two young ladies rejoin in the train that is set out toward Manchu. The film backtracks the recollections of the people who endure that timeframe through the two young ladies and recalling the agonizing past.
